Last weekend, I went on a trip to Rome with my High Renaissance and Mannerism course. On Saturday, a beautiful, sunny day in Rome, we toured a number of sites which related to our class. We went to the Villa Farnesina which was a "pleasure palace" for the patron to entertain his guests. We also went through the Vatican Museum, all the way through the Sistine Chapel, and then to Saint Peter's to see Michelangelo's Pieta. Afterwards we went to a church where we saw a number of paintings by Caravaggio. On Sunday (a rain day) we took a tour of Ancient Rome—the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Roman Forum, and the Pantheon. We ended the day at the Villa Borghese to see more works by Renaissance painters and sculptors. Overall, a great time in Rome!

Gone With The Wind Poster in Restaurant in Rome
It was Daneka's 20th birthday - as a surprise the waiter brought over a tiramisu-type dessert with a sparkler on top as loud birthday music played through the speakers and the lights were turned completely off throughout the restaurant - so funny!
